Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Football Friday Night Lights Week 5 Final Mooresville Pioneers- 21 Decatur Central Hawks- 37 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Football Team fall to 2-3 (0-3 MSC) with a 37-21 loss to the Decatur Central Hawks in week 5 of the Indiana High School Football season. Mooresville trailed 21-0 late in the second quarter but were able to cut into the Hawks lead to 21-7 as Eli Hill connected with Keagan Burch (PAT- Owen Hopkins) for a 17 yard score as the first half came to a close. Decatur Central scored early in the third quarter to take a 28-7 lead but the Pioneers continued to compete on both sides of the ball. The Pioneers battled back to pull within two scores, 28-14 as Eli Hill hit Jackson Denny (PAT- Owen Hopkins) for a 13 yard touchdown. On the ensuing kickoff the Pioneers Keagan Burch recovered an onside kick setting up Mooresville on their own 49 yard line. On their first play of the drive Eli Hill threw his third touchdown pass of the game hitting Cooper Jones for a 51 yard score (PAT- Owen Hopkins) to close out the third quarter trailing 28-21. Decatur Central scored the final 9 points of the game and held the Pioneers scoreless in the fourth quarter to get the win, 37-21. The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Football team will be back in action on Friday September 25, 2026 (Homecoming Week) and will host the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs, kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
