Mooresville High School Athletic Department Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week October 19th – October 24th The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is proud to announce the Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week for October 19th – October 24th. This recognition is awarded weekly to Mooresville student-athletes who demonstrate excellence across all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Pendill Wealth Management is committed to celebrating the hard work and achievements of Mooresville student-athletes while continuing to support the growth and success of the athletic department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is grateful for its partnership with BJ Pendill and Pendill Wealth Management in recognizing and honoring our outstanding student-athletes each week. Athlete of the Week – Girl’s Cross Country – Amelia Allender, Junior This week’s Athlete of the Week is junior Amelia Allender, whose outstanding performances, dedication, and commitment to improvement have made her a leader for the Mooresville Girls Cross Country team throughout the 2026 season. Amelia has been the Pioneers' top performer throughout the fall, consistently leading the team in competition and representing Mooresville well against strong competition. Her accomplishments include a second-place finish at the Morgan County Meet and a 27th-place finish at the Mid-State Conference Meet. She also earned the distinction of being the only Mooresville Cross Country runner to advance to the IHSAA Regional, an accomplishment that reflects her hard work and consistency throughout the season. While her performances on race days have been impressive, Amelia's dedication away from competition is equally deserving of recognition. As a student enrolled in the cosmetology program at Area 31 Career Center, Amelia has faced the challenge of balancing her academic commitments with the demands of competing at the varsity level. Her schedule often requires her to train independently, placing additional responsibility on her to maintain her conditioning and prepare for competition. Rather than allowing those challenges to interfere with her progress, Amelia has embraced the responsibility. She has demonstrated the self-discipline and determination necessary to continue improving, even when her training schedule looks different from that of her teammates. Her willingness to put in the work on her own speaks volumes about her commitment to the sport and the Pioneer program. Throughout the season, Amelia has continued to set an example through her consistency, preparation, and competitive effort. Her success is a reflection not only of her ability as a runner, but also of the time and effort she has invested in becoming the best athlete she can be. For her outstanding junior season, IHSAA Regional qualification, and exceptional dedication to balancing academics and athletics, Amelia Allender is a very deserving Athlete of the Week. Athlete of the Week – Football – Daniel Belesi, Senior This week’s Athlete of the Week is senior Daniel Belesi, whose outstanding defensive performance, leadership, and experience helped lead the Mooresville Pioneers to a victory over Martinsville in the opening round of IHSAA Sectional #22. Daniel played a major role in Friday night’s postseason victory, recording 5 solo tackles and 7 assists for a total of 12 tackles, while also forcing a crucial fumble that the Pioneers recovered. His ability to make plays and create opportunities for the defense was instrumental in helping Mooresville advance to the Sectional Semifinals, where the Pioneers will travel to Beech Grove on Friday, October 30. While his performance against Martinsville was impressive, Daniel's contributions to the Pioneer defense extend well beyond one game. As a senior safety, he has been a consistent presence in the defensive backfield throughout the season, providing valuable experience and leadership to a unit that continues to improve as the postseason progresses. One of Daniel's greatest strengths is his understanding of the game. His ability to recognize situations, anticipate plays, and put himself in the right position has made him a dependable member of the Mooresville defense. His coaches have tremendous confidence in his ability to understand his responsibilities and execute them on Friday nights. Beyond his performance on the field, Daniel has earned the respect of his coaches through his work ethic, coachability, and commitment to the team. He approaches practices with a willingness to learn and improve while setting a positive example for his teammates. His leadership and consistency have been especially important as the Pioneers continue their postseason run. For his 12-tackle performance and crucial forced fumble against Martinsville, along with the leadership, experience, and dependable play he has provided throughout his senior season, Daniel Belesi is a very deserving Athlete of the Week.
