The Mooresville Pioneers girls tennis team traveled to Perry Meridian on Monday for a Mid-State Conference showdown. The host Falcons claimed a 4-1 victory in varsity play and a 9-3 win in junior varsity action. Varsity Recap: #1 Singles: Lyla Kaufman continued her impressive season with a hard-fought 6-2, 7-5 win. #2 Singles: Hadley Miller battled through a tough match but fell 0-6, 0-6. #3 Singles: Adilynn Breedlove gave a strong effort but came up short, 0-6, 2-6. #1 Doubles: Jacey Bell and Hailey Hoffman lost 0-6, 0-6. #2 Doubles: Carissa Kennedy and Ava Krauss fought hard but dropped a 4-6, 1-6 decision. The JV team now stands at 3-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Pioneers return to action on Wednesday, April 23, hosting Southport for Senior Night. Senior introductions will begin at 4:50 PM, with matches set to start at 5:00 PM.
