The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team secured their seventh win of the regular season (7-2) and fifth win in the Mid State Conference (5-1) on Wednesday evening, defeating the Perry Meridian Falcons 1-0. The Pioneers and Falcons played eight and a half innings of scoreless baseball that was ended in the bottom of the ninth inning on a lead off solo home run by Tyler Denny, his first of the 2025 regular season. Starting pitcher Hudson DeVaughan threw seven innings, allowed one hit, walked three, and struck out eleven Perry Meridian hitters. Liam Delp entered the game in the top of the eighth inning and threw the final two innings, allowed one hit, no walks, and struck out four Falcons. DeVaughan and Delp stat line combined for two hits, three walks, no runs, and fifteen strikeouts. The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team will be back in action Thursday April 24, 2025 and will host the Southport Cardinals, first pitch scheduled for 6:00pm. #mooresvillepioneersbaseball2025
