Mooresville Girls Tennis Falls to Greenwood in Hard-Fought Match

The Mooresville Girls Tennis team traveled to Greenwood on Tuesday, where they battled hard but ultimately fell 4-1 to the Woodmen. The lone varsity win came from Lyla Kaufman at #1 singles, who earned a strong 6-4, 6-1 victory. In junior varsity action, Greenwood claimed an 11-2 win. Mooresville's JV highlights included Brooklyn Rawlins and Katie Taylor pulling out a close 8-7 (8-6) win in doubles, and Rawlins pairing with Brook Mitchell for an 8-3 win. Players of the Match Varsity: Lyla Kaufman Junior Varsity: Brooklyn Rawlins With the loss, the varsity team’s record moves to 8-8 overall and 1-4 in the Mid-State Conference. The JV team drops to 4-7-1 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, May 10, as they travel to Heritage Christian for a 10:00 a.m. non-conference match.
