Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Thursday Final: Mooresville Pioneers- 5 Greenfield-Central Cougars- 2

The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Baseball Team played their fourth game in four days Thursday evening as the Pioneers hosted the Greenfield-Central Cougars. The Pioneers were down 2-1 through two innings but managed to plate a run in the in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at 2-2. Mooresville would score 2 in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to secure a 5-2 win. With the win the Pioneers are five games above .500 with a regular season record of 11-6 through the first 17 games of the season. Liam Delp made his first start on the mound for the Pioneers on Thursday going the distance to collect the win. Delp faced 27 hitters in his 7 innings of work allowing 5 hits, 0 earned runs, did not walk a batter, and struck out 2 in the Pioneers eleventh win of the season. Mooresville's offense scored 5 runs on 7 hits, had 5 RBI, were walked 4 times, and had 4 strikeouts. The Pioneers will have Friday off (no game) before closing out the five games in six day stretch with a trip to Covenant Christian on Saturday May 10, 2025 to take on the Warriors at 10:00am. #mooresvillepioneersbaseball2025
