Freshman Football Week 2 Saturday Final Mooresville Pioneers- 33 Lafayette Central Catholic (Junior Varsity)- 22 The Mooresville Pioneers Freshman Football Team opened the home portion of the 2025 season with a 33-22 win over the visiting Lafayette Central Catholic Knights Junior Varsity improving to 2-0. For a majority of the first half the game remained scoreless as both defenses came to play. The Pioneers got on the board late in the second quarter on a Quinn Kenworthy 95 yard touchdown run (PAT Good- Beckham Bunten) to take a 7-0 lead. The Pioneers added 26 points in the final three quarters to secure the 33-22 win. On the defensive side of the ball the Pioneers played aggressively for four quarters, a performance highlighted by two Kennedy Aytes-Caughey interceptions deep in the knights end of the field setting up two Mooresville touchdowns. The Mooresville Pioneers Freshman will be back in action on Saturday September 6, 2025 as they travel to Plainfield to take on the Quakers to open Mid State Conference play, kickoff 9:00am.
