Mooresville Wins Invitational Championship

The Mooresville boys tennis team hosted the Mooresville Invitational today and came away with the championship. The Pioneers defeated Mississinewa 4-1 in the opening round and secured the title with a 4-1 victory over Linton-Stockton in the championship match. Against Mississinewa, varsity results were: #1 singles – Archer Query won 6-1, 6-1 #2 singles – Baylor Query lost 4-6, 4-6 #3 singles – Koleton Wilson won 6-4, 6-0 #1 doubles – DJ Enkhorn & Brady McNally won 6-2, 6-0 #2 doubles – Jared Kempf & Ben Coffey won 6-0, 6-0 Players of the Match were Jared Kempf and Ben Coffey. In the championship match against Linton-Stockton, Mooresville picked up wins from: #1 singles – Archer Query 6-1, 6-3 #3 singles – Jared Kempf 6-3, 6-1 #1 doubles – Brady McNally & Koleton Wilson 6-1, 6-2 #2 doubles – DJ Enkhorn & Ben Coffey 6-3, 6-3 Players of the Match were Brady McNally and Kolten Wilson. In JV action versus Linton-Stockton, Mooresville earned three victories: Grant Fox (singles) 5-4 Gavin Cooper & Grayson Furniss (doubles) 6-1 Traejen Asher & Landen Stoner (doubles) 6-5 Players of the Match for JV were Gavin Cooper and Grayson Furniss. With the invitational win, the varsity improves to 5-3 overall, while the JV moves to 3-3. Mooresville is back in action on Tuesday, September 2nd, when they host Greenwood for Senior Night. The Pioneers will honor seniors Archer Query, Jared Kempf, DJ Enkhorn, Brady McNally, Landen Stoner, and Ben Klopfenstein. Introductions begin at 5:15 p.m. with the match starting at 5:30 p.m.
