Pioneers Sweep Greenwood on Senior Night

The Mooresville boys tennis team hosted Greenwood this afternoon for Senior Night and celebrated with a sweep. The Pioneers earned a 5-0 victory at varsity and a 4-2 win at JV. For the varsity, senior Archer Query won at #1 singles 6-2, 6-2. At #2 singles, Baylor Query posted a 6-0, 6-3 victory, while Kolten Wilson took #3 singles 6-1, 6-0. At doubles, seniors DJ Enkhorn and Brady McNally claimed #1 doubles 6-1, 6-1, and senior Jared Kempf and Ben Coffey secured #2 doubles 6-2, 6-1. In JV action, Gavin Cooper won at #1 singles 8-2, while Abram Haack fell 8-3 at #2 singles. At doubles, Grant Fox and Grayson Furniss earned an 8-1 win at #1, seniors Landen Stoner and Zach Meador dominated 8-0 at #2, and Ben Klopfenstein and Traejen Asher dropped a close 8-6 match at #3. Stoner and Meador capped the night with an 8-1 win at #4 doubles. With the victory, the varsity improves to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-State Conference, while the JV moves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Pioneers would like to thank their seniors and their families for their dedication to Mooresville tennis. The team is back in action Thursday, September 4, when they host Plainfield in another conference matchup beginning at 5:00 p.m.
