Mooresville High School Athletic Department Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week September 1st – September 6th The Mooresville High School Athletic Department is pleased to announce the Pendill Wealth Management Athletes of the Week Award for the week of September 1st – September 6th. The award will be given to one female and one male student-athletes who displayed athletic excellence in all areas of competition during the previous week of athletic contests. Pendill Wealth Management is proud to recognize student athletes for their athletic achievements each week while supporting the Mooresville Athletic Department. The Mooresville Athletic Department is honored to partner with BJ Pendill to recognize the Mooresville High School student athlete of the week. Athlete of the Week – Soccer – Lyla Jacobs, Senior This week’s Female Athlete of the Week is senior captain Lyla Jacobs, whose outstanding play and leadership have been the driving force for the Pioneers this season. Through just eight games, Lyla has already scored an impressive 16 goals, showcasing her skill, determination, and relentless effort on the field. A four-year varsity starter and four-year captain, Lyla sets the standard for her teammates with her tireless work ethic, fierce competitiveness, and positive attitude. She leads by example and embodies what it means to represent Mooresville Girls’ Soccer. With a strong second half of the season, Lyla has the chance to cement her legacy as one of the program’s all-time greats. She is currently on pace to finish in the top three all-time in both points and goals, further solidifying her place in Pioneer history. Athlete of the Week – Tennis – Archer Query, Senior This week’s Male Athlete of the Week is senior captain Archer Query, who continues to shine at the top spot for the Pioneers. Archer went 2-0 last week with impressive conference victories over Greenwood and Plainfield, keeping his conference record undefeated. On the season, he stands at an outstanding 8-2 overall, consistently facing some of the best players in the state at #1 singles. Archer has strung together back-to-back strong weeks, having gone 4-0 the week prior with wins over Decatur Central, Whiteland, Mississinewa, and Linton-Stockton. His steady play has been a reliable point at #1 singles and a key factor in the team’s 6-4 record so far this season. Beyond his performance on the court, Archer is a respected captain and senior leader, setting the tone for his teammates with his work ethic, consistency, and leadership. With another busy week ahead against Terre Haute North, Warren Central, and Avon, Archer continues to represent the very best of Pioneer Tennis.
