Pioneers Claim 4-1 Mid-State Victory Over Perry Meridian

The Mooresville boys tennis team traveled to Perry Meridian this afternoon for a Mid-State Conference matchup and came away with a 4-1 varsity victory. At the JV level, the Falcons won 5-1. For the varsity, at #1 singles, Archer Query won 6-1, 6-4. At #2 singles, Baylor Query lost 4-6, 3-6. At #3 singles, Kolten Wilson won 6-2, 6-0. At #1 doubles, Brady McNally and DJ Enkhorn won 7-5, 6-0. At #2 doubles, Jared Kempf and Ben Coffey rallied for a 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 win. For the JV, Gavin Cooper picked up the lone Pioneer win with an 8-7(7-1) victory. Also at singles, Abram Haack lost 0-8. In doubles action, Grant Fox and Grayson Furniss lost 8-2, Landen Stoner and Zach Meador lost 8-6, Ben Klopfenstein and Traejen Asher fell 8-7(7-4), and Abram Haack and Grayson Furniss dropped a tight match 8-7(7-4). The Pioneers varsity improved to 8-6 overall and 4-2 in the conference, while the JV fell to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Mooresville is next in action on Tuesday, September 16, when they host Greencastle in a non-conference match at 5:30 pm.
