FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mooresville High School Welcomes Alumna Kelsey Wooten as Varsity Softball Head Coach Mooresville, IN — Mooresville High School is proud to announce the hiring of Kelsey Wooten as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Softball program. A 2009 graduate of Mooresville High School, Wooten brings a deep connection to the Pioneer community, a wealth of playing and leadership experience, and a strong vision for the future of Mooresville Softball. Wooten played four years of varsity softball at Mooresville under former head coach Traci Ball, before continuing her career at Goshen College. During her collegiate career, she earned the honor of serving as team captain both her junior and senior years. In 2013, Wooten graduated from Goshen with a degree in Broadcasting and a minor in American Sign Language (ASL). After graduation, Wooten began her professional career in radio at WKKG in Columbus, Indiana, where she worked until 2020. She and her husband, Mitchell, returned home to Mooresville in 2021 to raise their two children, Brennan and Stella. Wooten currently works with WCBK in Martinsville while continuing to pursue her passion for softball. Her coaching journey with the Pioneers began in 2023 as the Assistant JV Coach, followed by her promotion to Assistant Varsity Coach in 2024. She now steps into the head coaching role with both enthusiasm and a commitment to building on the program’s tradition of excellence. “We are thrilled to have Coach Wooten leading our softball program,” said Matthew Bosworth, Athletic Director at Mooresville High School. “Her background as a Pioneer, her leadership experience as a collegiate captain, and her dedication to our student-athletes make her the perfect fit to guide Mooresville Softball into its next chapter.” Mooresville Athletics is eager to see the energy and leadership Coach Wooten will bring to the program as the Pioneers prepare for the upcoming season.
