Pioneers Varsity Tennis Sweeps Danville

The Mooresville boys tennis team traveled to Danville Community this afternoon for a non-conference match. The Pioneers came away with a 5-0 win at varsity, while the Warriors won the JV by a score of 4-2. For the varsity, Archer Query won at #1 singles 7-5, 7-6(8-6). At #2 singles, Baylor Query earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory, and at #3 singles, Jared Kempf won 6-2, 6-3. In doubles action, Brady McNally and Kolten Wilson dominated at #1 doubles 6-0, 6-0, while DJ Enkhorn and Ben Coffey took #2 doubles 6-2, 6-2. For the JV, at singles, Gavin Cooper lost 8-1, Trajen Asher lost 8-0, Ben Klopfenstein lost 8-5, and Abram Haack lost 8-1. In doubles, Grant Fox and Grayson Furniss won 8-0, and Landen Stoner and Zach Meador also won 8-0. On the season, the varsity improved to 10-6, while the JV fell to 6-8. The Pioneers are next in action on Saturday, September 20, when the varsity travels to Providence for the Providence Invite, while the JV heads to Guerin Catholic for the Guerin JV Invite.
