Friday Night Lights Week 6 Final Mooresville Pioneers- 17 Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs- 28 The Mooresville Pioneers Varsity Football Team traveled to Franklin Community in week 6 of the Indiana High School Football Season to take on the Grizzly Cubs. The Pioneers got down early in the first quarter when Franklin Community scored on their first possession of the game to take a 7-0 lead. On the next drive the Pioneers would score on a five yard touchdown run by quarterback Connor Cruz (PAT- Owen Hopkins) to tie the game at 7-7. Franklin Community would take a 14-7 lead midway through the second quarter yet the Pioneers would add an Owen Hopkins 30 yard field goal to cut the Grizzly Cub lead to four going into the half. Franklin Community received the ball to start the second half and added to their lead with a 13 yard touchdown run to take a 21-10 lead. The Grizzly Cubs would score for the final time in the fourth to build their lead to 28-10. The Pioneers would cut the Franklin Community lead to eleven points (28-17) in the fourth as sophomore wide receiver Keegan Burch would score his first Varsity touchdown on a 28 yard pass from Cruz (PAT- Hopkins). The Grizzly Cubs would manage to hold onto their eleven point lead and hand the Pioneers their second consecutive loss, 28-17. With the loss Mooresville drops to 3-3 on the season and 1-3 in the Mid State Conference with 3 regular season games to play. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action on Friday October 3, 2025 as Mooresville High School and the Mooresville Pioneers Football program will celebrate the Class of 2026 on Senior Night as they welcome the Whiteland Warriors for a 7:00pm kickoff.
