The MHS boys tennis team wrapped up the regular season with an early morning trip to Bloomington North. The host Cougars came away with a 5-0 varsity win and an 8-1 JV victory. For the varsity, Archer Query fell 3-6, 3-6 at #1 singles. At #2 singles, Baylor Query lost 0-6, 2-6, and at #3 singles, Jared Kempf dropped a close match 3-6, 4-6. In doubles play, DJ Enkhorn and Kolten Wilson were defeated 2-6, 4-6 at #1, while Ben Coffey and Grayson Furniss lost 3-6, 5-7 at #2. At the JV level, the Pioneers’ lone win came from Grant Fox and Gavin Cooper, who earned a 6-4 victory at doubles. The Pioneers varsity closes the regular season with an 11-11 record, while the JV finished 8-13-2. The team would like to thank all parents and fans for their continued support and invites everyone to cheer them on in the postseason. Mooresville will host this year’s IHSAA Boys Tennis Sectional. The Pioneers open play on Tuesday, with first-round matches scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
