The MHS boys tennis team competed in the first round of the IHSAA sectional this afternoon. In the opening round, Mooresville defeated Martinsville 5-0, while Greencastle earned a 5-0 victory over South Putnam. For the Pioneers, at #1 singles, Archer Query won 6-0, 6-0. At #2 singles, Baylor Query posted a 6-3, 6-0 win, and at #3 singles Jared Kempf cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. In doubles play, DJ Enkhorn and Kolten Wilson won 6-0, 6-0 at #1 doubles, while Ben Coffey and Grayson Furniss took #2 doubles 6-0, 6-1. With the victory, Mooresville advances to the sectional championship match against Greencastle on Thursday, October 2, at 5:30 p.m. Player introductions will begin at 5:15 p.m. on the Pioneers’ courts.
