Friday Night Lights Week 9 Final Mooresville Pioneers- 42 Perry Meridian Falcons- 21 The Mooresville Pioneers wrapped up the 2025 regular season on Friday night with a 42-21 road win over the Perry Meridian Falcons. With the win the Pioneers finish the regular season on a two game win streak and a game above .500 with a 5-4 record, and finished 3-4 (fourth place) in the Mid State Conference. Friday's win was headlined by senior wide receiver Journey Thompson who had 9 receptions for 283 yards and 4 touchdowns. Senior quarterback Connor Cruz was 11 for 18 for 225 yards and 4 touchdown passes while Senior running back/wide receiver Tyler Denny threw his first touchdown pass of the season (78 yards to J. Thompson). The Pioneers forced three Falcon turnovers which was started by Senior Chase Copeland who intercepted Perry on their first offensive play from scrimmage. Perry Meridian got as close as 28-21 at the end of the third quarter but Mooresville answered, scoring twice in the fourth quarter to seal the 42-21 win. The Mooresville Pioneers will be back in action on Friday October 24, 2025 as the 2025 IHSAA 4A Post Season begins. Mooresville will host the Chatard Trojans in the opening round of Sectional 22, kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm.
